If you don’t already have a Riot Games account to play, then you’ll need to register one here. If you manage to make an account before May 7, you’ll be given the Moonstruck Poro Guardian that you can play with on your board on May 8. Your progression that you’ve already earned will not be wiped when the game leave beta. That means you get to keep all your cards and progression that you’ve already earned. As someone who’s nearly maxed out the Frejlord quests, this is a welcome sign.

The next set of over 120 new cards will launch with the 1.0 patch on April 28 at 1 p.m. EST. PC players will have a few days to test out the newest set before mobile players have the opportunity to test it out. With the 1.0 patch on the way, the Legends of Runeterra ranked beta will be coming to a close. You will get a special icon depending on where you ranked and be reset to one of these levels:

Master accounts will drop 800LP (8 divisions)Diamond and Platinum accounts will drop 750LP (7 divisions + 50LP)Gold and Silver accounts will drop 675LP (6 divisions + 75LP)Bronze and Iron accounts will reset to Iron IV

Currently, Legends of Runeterra has a bit of a balance problem. Ionia, the Shadow Isles and the Frejlord dominate the top decks with their beefy units and proper removal. Ionia is the only tribe with access to Deny, a card that stops any spell, making it one of the most coveted factions in all of the game. If you want to compete at the top level, you’ll need to bring powerful minions that the Frejlord has plenty of. Swarming the board with small minions that need to be overrun is the Shadow Isles speciality. Constant balance patches have attempted to curb this issue, but with the full release so close it’s a literally worrisome that the game isn’t still balanced enough.
